Beim SummerSlam bekommt traditionell der Sieger des King of the Ring-Turniers einen World Title Shot in seinem Brand.

Früher wurden beim SummerSlam traditionell alle Titel von SAW ausgekämpft. Seitdem der PPV 2010 ausfiel, wird diese Praxis jedoch nicht mehr angewendet.

2011 fand der Pay Per View ohne ECW Match statt, einige Wrestler des lila Brands tauchten allerdings in der Show auf.
